A spoiler ridden review of Onyx Storm

Currently cycling away on my peloton with snow falling outside, and simultaneously listening to the cryptic playlist Rebecca Yarros put together for her third book in the Empyrean Series, Onyx Storm.

If it's not clear, THIS WILL HAVE SPOILERS.

We all fell in love with Fourth Wing when our broody hero, Xaden Riorson, collectively gave us butterflies that rivaled the feeling of your high school crush offering you a ride home. The series continued with Iron Flame and we endured angsty miscommunication, a cast of new characters, and mind bending world building. Only to be left with one of the most frustrating cliffhangers known to fantasy. Our shadow daddy, Xaden, had begun his transition to Venin (aka, he was now one of the ACTUAL bad guys).
