It’s book club time at YHTRTN! We both just finished this one and are diving into this one! We’re firm believers that you can have a great chat about any good book, but we’re breaking these recs out by book club vibe to give you some fresh ideas. Plus, we’d never let you show up with ACOTAR to book club with the church ladies! We also asked our readers a while back to share some book club experience ideas, and we got the best responses! So we’re pairing each book club vibe with a few different ideas to mix things up at your next get-together.
1. Buzzy Book Club
The books everyone is talking about!! This is for the group who suffers from FOMO, loves to be in on the hype, and can’t miss a must-read.

Hosting inspo: Have a Lessons in Chemistry watch party, everyone brings a book-themed snack to share, come dressed as a favorite character.
2. Romance Book Club
The books that make you kick your feet in the air and squeal. For the hopeless romantics who love and swoon over a dreamy book boyfriend.

Hosting inspo: Make flower-pressed bookmarks, blind date with a book (we wrote some for you here!), bring wedding photos and everyone shares their love story—or if you’re super brave, come in your/a wedding dress (this one made us laugh).
3. Church Book Club
See also, book club with your mom, or mixed-crowd book club. Either way, we’re keeping the spice low, the language clean, and nothing too controversial.

Hosting inspo: Make presentations on certain characters, bring your favorite quotes, meet in a local bookshop to discuss.
4. New Reader Book Club
New to reading means: old favorites! These are books for the readers who are just getting started and get to read some of the best, most beloved books for the first time (jealous!!!).

Hosting inspo: Watch party! (so many of these have been made into a movie), share snippets of the real story your book was based on, deep-dive on the author.
5. Let’s Get Deep Book Club
Books perfect for deep discussions on real issues. This is for the group who appreciates good writing, a great story, and something to think about for a long time.

Hosting inspo: Discuss over a campfire, meet at a coffee shop, bring in a literary analysis or book review to discuss along with your story.
6. Biographers Book Club
All the best memoirs! This is for the group who loves a documentary and a juicy story. You know who you are.

Hosting inspo: Watch interviews with the writer/subject of the memoir, combine with cookbook club (this is a must for Be Ready When The Luck Happens!), serve themed cocktails.

This is fun! I have always wanted my books to be in a book club.
